The LGBTQ+ Sports Professionals Network aims to create a supportive and inclusive community for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies working in or passionate about the sport and physical activity sector.
We strive to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, addressing challenges and opportunities specific to the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals in the sector.
Our Objectives are
- To build community
Foster connections and networking opportunities among LGBTQ+ professionals, athletes, and advocates in the sport & physical activity sector.
- To offer Advocacy and Support
Provide a collective voice for LGBTQ+ individuals in the sector, promoting inclusivity and addressing discrimination or inequality.
- To Educate and Raise Awareness
Organise a range of events, to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues in sports, promoting best practice for inclusion.
- To build Partnerships and Collaborations
Develop relationships with sports organisations, governing bodies, and sponsors to advance LGBTQ+ representation and inclusion.
Membership
Membership is open to LGBTQ+ individuals and allies working in or passionate about the sports sector, including athletes, coaches, administrators, and advocates, as well as those working in sports media.
The Network meets online on a monthly basis.
